Knitting Level 5: Two-Handed Fair Isle

In this class you will be introduced to Fair Isle knitting (two-colour stranded colourwork). The instructor will cover basic techniques and support you in working through a simple colourwork cowl.

Students are required to purchase their own yarn, needles, pattern, and notions. Students get a 15% discount on materials purchased for their class.

Supplies to Purchase

  • 2 colours of DK/light worsted weight yarn for practice
  • 4.5 mm (US 7 ) or an appropriate size needle for swatching

  • DK/light worsted weight yarn. Approx. 200 m in main colour and 110 m in contrast colour. Suggested:

  • 4.5 mm (US 7 ), 60 cm (24”) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge in colourwork)
