Beehive Fibre Arts Centre

This project made possible in partnership with the City of Victoria.

The Beehive Fibre Arts Centre is a multi-use space located at 1205 Blanshard St dedicated to cultivating the fibre arts community in Victoria by providing a safe, friendly, and low-barrier space for individuals, clubs, and businesses to gather together and create, learn, and share their love of textiles.

What are fibre arts?Fibre arts refers to any art form that uses textiles, fabric, or yarn. Examples include, but are not limited to: knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, fabric dying, sewing, quilting, rug hooking, embroidery, cross stitch, and so on.

There are many ways to participate, either as an individual or a group:

  1. Gallery Display Space: Individual artists or groups practicing fibre arts or mixed media arts can apply to be featured in one or more of our display spaces on a rotating basis.  To see information about the space and apply to be featured, click here.
  2. Classroom Space: Class tables are set up for students of any age or ability to learn a new skill. Knitting and crochet classes provided by the Beehive may be scheduled at Fibre Art Centre (see our class listings). Individual instructors or clubs may also book our class tables to teach their own lessons.
  3. Social Stitching: Clubs, groups, and associations are welcome to book our space for their own use.  Click hear to see more information and to book your space.
  4. Coming Soon: drop-in social stitching: We are currently working with our volunteers and stakeholders to develop a drop-in calendar for community gatherings. Check back soon for more information!
  5. Donate your time, fixtures, furniture, or art:  If you are interested in volunteering any time, fixtures, or fibre art for display to help create a warm, welcoming environment for all, please fill out this Google Form and we will answer you as soon as possible. Thank you for your interest!
