Seasonal Part-Time Sales Associate

Beehive Wool Shop is looking for a Seasonal Part-Time Sales Associate to join our team! We are looking for someone who can bring their passion for yarn and fibre combined with a customer service skillset to our collaborative and creative workplace.

Founded in 1906, Beehive Wool Shop’s mission is to provide quality knitting and crochet supplies for residents and visitors to Victoria, and everyone who visits our online store. We specialize in providing excellent customer service to ensure that makers leave with all the correct materials they need for their projects, along with a healthy dose of inspiration and confidence.  We pride ourselves in providing excellent value and quality for our customers through our curated product selection. We believe that the Beehive can inspire greater humanity through fibrecraft.

Position details:

  • 2-3 days per week, occasional weekends
  • Starting wage: $17.85 per hour

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product selection
  • Promptly welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
  • Remain knowledgeable about products offered and fibre craft
  • Use POS (point of sale) to process purchases and returns, and to navigate inventory information
  • Follow instructions and see tasks through to completion
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers to achieve tasks and assist customers
  • Comply with store policies and procedures

The ideal candidate:

  • Possesses an understanding of most knitting techniques
  • Displays a friendly, cheerful disposition and manner
  • Is committed to the customer experience
  • Has strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Is a self-motivated, positive and team-focused individual
  • Is punctual, dependable, and proficient in English 
  • Able to lift 25lbs and stand/walk for duration of shift

Assets:

  • Experience with point-of-sale systems, in particular Shopify
  • Experience with crochet or other fibre crafts, along with knitting knowledge as mentioned above
  • Previous customer service experience
