Ticket type

Join us on Saturday, August 16th to welcome Jane Hutchins of Tideview Farm.

About
Robert Byers and Jane Hutchins have raised Romney and Dorset respectively and now Icelandic sheep on Southern Vancouver Island. Starting with “a couple of sheep to keep the grass down,” they currently tend twenty-four registered ewes with genetics from Yeoman Farm and Le Biscornu. Their sheep are raised for breeding, wool, and meat. Jane’s family’s textile connections go back at least four generations, and she has spun, woven, knit, studied textile technology, and conserved historic textiles. Her current interests are primarily spinning, knitting, and tending the flock. At The Beehive she’ll try to answer the question about what she does, using pictures and some samples and hoping for audience questions.
