Knitting Level 2: Cabled Toque
Welcome back! If you've conquered the basics covered in our Knitting Level 1 class, you are ready for Knitting Level 2.
In this class, you will make a toque to expand your knitting skillset.
The pattern is provided for this class, but students are required to purchase their own yarn, needles, and notions. Students get a 15% discount on materials purchased for their class.
Length: 4 sessions x 1.5 hours
Pattern: Peregrina by Nicole Bottles
You will learn how to:
- Cast on using the long-tail method
- Swatch
- Read a pattern and understand common abbreviations
- Work in the round using magic loop
- Combine knits and purls for ribbing stitch
- Increase and decrease
- Knit cables
- Follow a chart
You should know how to:
- Cast on
- Knit and purl
Beehive will provide:

You need to bring:
- 100 g of worsted weight yarn. Light or bright shades preferable. Suggested:
- Berroco Vintage

- Brooklyn Tweed Tones
- Drops Lima
- Malabrigo Rios
- 4.5 mm (US 7), 100cm (40”) circular knitting needles
- Cable needle
- Tapestry needle/bodkin
- 4 stitch markers plus one locking stitch marker
