OVERVIEW

Paste Partout Hat is knitted top-down and in the round. The length of the brim is adjustable. Using Turkish Cast-on Method, it gives an almost invisible, neat look at the top of the crown. The best thing about top-down hat is that it’s easy to adjust the length. You can try it on as you go, making sure you get the best fit. Simple 2 by 2 ribbing with a unique crown shaping is such a joy to knit.

INSPIRATION

Passe Partout Hat is a simple but staple piece that you are gonna wear ANY DAY, ANYWHERE. Indeed, that is where the name came from. “Passe Partout” is a French word that means “go anywhere”.

SIZE GUIDE

Size 1 (2) are available. Size 1 is for a head circumference of 50-56cm, Size (2) is for a head circumference of 57-62cm.

YARN SUGGESTION

Passe Partout Hat is knitted with 2 strands (Yarn A&B) of your select combination of yarn.

• Yarn A: 50 (75) g of Sandness Garn Sunday (50g/235m) or Knitting for Olive Merino (50g/250m) or Sandnes Garn Tynn Peer Gynt (50g/205m)
• Yarn B: 25 (37.5) g of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (25g/225m) or Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair (25g/212m)

Or, substitute Yarn A & B with any single DK weight yarn

GAUGE

28 sts/36 rows = 10cm × 10cm in 2 by 2 ribbing (multiples of k2, p2) on 3.0mm needles after washing & blocking (I am a tight knitter. Always use the right needles that get you the correct gauge!)
