Knitting Level 5: Two-Handed Fair Isle

Loading...

In this class you will be introduced to Fair Isle knitting (two-colour stranded colourwork). The instructor will cover basic techniques and support you in working through a simple colourwork cowl.

Students are required to purchase their own yarn, needles, pattern, and notions. Students receive a discount code for 15% off of the supplies for their class.

Students should come to class with the project cast on and the ribbing complete, so that we can jump right into the colourwork section.

    You will learn how to:

    • Knit with both hands (left-handed knitters learn to use their right, and vice versa)
    • Understand colour dominance
    • Carry floats
    • Follow a chart

    You should know how to:

    • Maintain even tension
    • Cast on and bind off
    • Knit and purl
    • Read a pattern
    • Work in the round
