Knitting Level 3: Toe-Up Socks on Magic Loop
In this class, you will be making a pair of socks one at a time from the toe up on a circular needle. If you would prefer to knit socks from the top down on double-pointed needles, please see our other sock class.
The pattern is provided for this class, but students are required to purchase their own yarn, needles, and notions. Students get a 15% discount on materials purchased for their class.
Length: 4 x 1.5 hours

You will learn how to:
- Work in the round using magic loop
- Cast on seamlessly
- Work short rows using the wrap-and-turn method
- Bind off with elasticity
- Follow a written pattern and understand common abbreviations
- Fix common mistakes

- Knit and purl
- Cast on and bind off
- Increase
- Work in the round
Beehive will provide:

You need to bring
- 200 g of chunky weight yarn that knits to 15–16 stitches/4” (eg. Berroco Vintage Chunky). Light or bright shades are preferable.
- 5.0 mm (US 8), 80-100 cm (32-40”) circular needle
- 3 locking stitch markers
- Measuring tape
- Tapestry needle
