Welcome to the wonderful world of knitting! This class is designed for the absolute beginner knitter who has never picked up needles before. If you have ever done any knitting (whether as a child or more recently), please take Level 1.
In this class, you will be introduced to the knit stitch. Your finished swatch can be used as a coaster.
Your materials and pattern are included in the cost of the class and will be provided to you at the first session.
You will learn how to:
- Hold your yarn and needles
- Do the knit stitch
- Cast on and bind off
- Fix common mistakes
- Recognize stitches
- Finish your work
You should know:
- Absolutely nothing. Novices only, please.
Beehive will provide:
- 1 ball of Drops Nepal
- 6 mm (US 10), 60 cm (24”) circular needle
- 2 tapestry needles
- 1 locking stitch marker
- Resources page
