We are proud to offer classes for adults with a range of physical and mental capabilities and from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
If you believe you may need more assistance with classes please contact us upon registration so that we can ensure that your course will be successful. Please be aware that, while we will do our best, we may not be able to accommodate all students. If we are unable to accommodate your individual needs, a credit will be available.
Please avoid wearing scented creams or perfumes before entering the class as we are a scent-sensitive workplace and some products can trigger allergic reactions in others.
Smoking cigarettes or cannabis prior to class is discouraged as the smell can be disruptive for others in the class.
If your class requires supplies, you must arrive to the first class with all required materials. Purchases cannot be made during class time.
If you already own your own yarn or needles, but would like confirmation they are appropriate for the class, please contact the class coordinator or bring them to the shop and we can assist you.
If you need to purchase supplies, we offer a discount code for students to use in-store and online, which will be emailed to you.
Please note:
●Only one project per class is eligible for a discount.
●The code can only be used once per student. Plan to purchase all your supplies at one time, or contact us directly if you need additional purchases.
●This code is non-transferrable and can only be used by the enrolled individual. Returning students get 10% off their next class purchase within one calendar year.
If you feel ill with cough, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you please respect the health and safety of your peers and instructors and stay home. To provide additional protection to your instructor and fellow students, you may decide to wear a mask during classes. As knitting and crochet instruction is hands-on, you can expect to be in close proximity to others throughout your course.
Due to limited staffing and resources, any absence may result in missed techniques or guidance. Beehive provides reference material but is unable to provide make-up classes for missed classes. Students may contact their instructor to inquire about arranging a private lesson for an additional cost or register for ahelp session.
Full refunds for class tuition are available until 14 calendar days before the first session. Cancellations within 14 days before the first class session will receive a 50% refund. Students who choose to only partially complete a class, or who miss class sessions, are not eligible for a full or pro-rated refund.
Please email classes@beehivewoolshop.com to let us know you are unable to attend. Class supplies, if applicable, are available for refund as per our shoprefund policy.
Classes with low enrollment will be cancelled 7 days before the first class and students will receive a full refund. If a class is cancelled and you have already purchased supplies, all items are eligible for a refund, even if the yarn has been wound.
If a class is cancelled due to instructor illness or inclement weather, Beehive will reschedule the class for a new date. If you are unable to attend the new class, you will receive a pro-rated refund.
Doors will be opened 10 minutes before class starts. We ask that you arrive early as late arrivals are disruptive, and we don’t want you to miss out on any important tips and tricks. If you arrive before doors are open, please wait outside and we will be with you as soon as possible.
The Beehive is one block north of the Pandora bike lanes. Bike parking is available right outside our door, and inside the Centennial Square Parkade on Fisgard St.
Most bus routes have stops very close to the shop along Douglas St. or Johnson St. You can plan your route using Umo, the BC Transit Trip Planner or Google Maps.
There is plenty of street parking available or there is a city parkade on Fisgard St, across the street from the shop. If you download the Park Victoria app, you can manage your parking easily from your smartphone. All city parking rates apply.
You can reach our Class Coordinator directly by emailing classes@beehivewoolshop.com. You can also call the shop during business hours: 250-385-2727.
We are so thrilled to have you learn with us. If you have any questions or concerns about your class or project, don’t hesitate to reach out for more information. We are here to help you every step of the way.
