Knitting Level 2: Mittens
Welcome back! If you've conquered the basics covered in our Knitting Level 1 class, you are ready for Knitting Level 2.
In this class you will make a pair of mittens to expand your knitting skillset.
The pattern is provided for this class but students are required to purchase their own yarn, needles, and notions. Students get a 15% discount on materials purchased for their class.
Length: 4 sessions x 1.5 hours
Pattern: World’s Simplest Mittens by Tin Can Knits (Provided)
You will learn how to:
- Cast on using the long-tail method
- Knit a swatch
- Work in the round using magic loop
- Follow a written pattern and understand common abbreviations
- Combine knits and purls for ribbing stitch
- Increase and decrease
- Pick up a stitch
You should know how to:
- Cast on
- Knit and purl

100 g of worsted weight yarn. Light or bright shades are preferable. Suggested:

- 3.75 mm (US 5) and 4.5 mm (US 7), 80 cm (32”) circular knitting needles
- 1 tapestry needle
- 2 stitch markers
- Smooth waste yarn or 1 stitch holder
