Crochet Level 1: Beginner Crochet

Welcome back to crochet! Whether you learned recently or when you were younger, this course is for you. We will go over the basics to re-learn or refresh foundational skills. If you have never picked up a crochet hook before, please take Level 0.
You will learn several stitches as well as some helpful general skills by crocheting a cowl.
The necessary materials and pattern are included in the cost of the course and will be provided to you in the first class.
Length: 4 sessions x 1.5 hours
Pattern: Foggy Morning Cowl by Tanis McNally-Dawes (provided)
You will learn how to:
- Chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, and double crochet
- Turn your work and keep the edges straight
- Recognize stitches
- Understand the concept of gauge
- Follow a written pattern
- Understand stitch abbreviations
- Join a new ball
- Seam
- Finish your work
You should know how to:
- Hold a crochet hook
- Make a chain
