Crochet Level 2: Beanie and Cowl

Now that you've conquered the basics, you are ready for Crochet 2. In this class, you will review the basic techniques learned in Crochet 1 and then learn the next technique of half double crochet. You will learn how to work in the round and use increasing (circular spiral) and decreasing to create a beanie. After that, you will also learn a new way to begin a tubular spiral scarf using the foundation half double crochet technique to create a lovely scarf that will be the envy of others!

Length: 4 sessions x 1.5 hours

    Skills Required:

    • Chain
    • Single Crochet
    • Slip Stitch
    • Fasten Off

     Materials:

  • Blunt darning needle to finish
  • 1 locking marker.
  • Plus:
  • Beanie
    • Yarn: approx. 155m worsted weight
      (approximately 18 single crochets = 4” /10 cm.) 
    • 5 mm crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge
    Cowl
    •  Yarn: approx. 400m worsted weight
      (approximately 18 single crochets = 4” /10 cm)
    • 5 mm crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.
