Knitting Level 4: Brioche
Explore the extensive possibilities of brioche knitting! Brioche creates a wonderfully plush, widely ribbed fabric. In this class you’ll learn brioche basics and your instructor will support you in working through a simple project. Choose your own pattern or make the Beehive Brioche Cowl.
Your chosen pattern must be:
- Knit in the round
- Limited to 2 colours
- A project that doesn’t offer technical challenges apart from the brioche (for example, if you are comfortable making hats but not mittens, choose a hat project)
You will learn how to:
- Work brioche flat and in the round
- Use double increase and decrease techniques
- Use special cast-on and bind-off techniques
You should know how to:
- Follow a pattern
- Knit and purl
- Cast on and bind off
- Work in the round
